Hello! My name is Tara Brown Fortier and, this is my 11th year teaching Freshmen English. I have my Master's Degree in The Art of Teaching (for English and Spanish certification). I am thrilled to be part of the GRAPCEP program once again! This year is going to be beneficial and exciting as we study literature and composition together! In the Advanced Placement English classes in the GRAPCEP program, we have many opportunities to study how scientists use language to create tone and to set point of view. In the two courses, we can see the parallels between critical writing and critical thinking. Because I graduated from Creston (Class of 1987), I am honored to work with the GRAPCEP students, ones who carry on the long tradition of academic rigor for which this school is known. |

This is my third year teaching in GRAPCEP and my ninth year at Creston. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Aquinas college and I am pursuing master’s degree at Grand Valley State. I have taught every math subject at the high school level and enjoy each one. I look forward to the opportunity to work with every student in GRAPCEP. |

I enjoy working with our students and helping them achieve in mathematics. I anticipate a great 6th year. Solving logic problems is one of my favorite activities. Some staff members swear, I cannot be stumped. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. |

I’ll be teaching the physics class for the junior GRAPCEP students this year. I’ve been teaching for 22 years. I’ve also coached Creston’s FIRST Robotics team since it first started 8 years ago. We have great support from corporate partners and GRAPCEP, and I hope many of our GRAPCEP students will join our team this year! The Robotics Team is a great experience for future engineers!! |

This is my tenth year teaching and first year at GRAPCEP. I graduated from Calvin College and have my master's degree in secondary education from Grand Valley State University. In addition to my teaching experience, I have had several articles and essays published in a variety of magazines and journals. I will be helping out with the Writer's Block tutoring on Tuesday mornings and am available anytime to help students with all forms of writing, including school assignments, college application essays, and even creative writing. |
